Concert Schedule 15-21.07 Warsaw Summer Jazz Days / Crossroads Festival in Krakow

I'm moving to Warsaw for one week so that's the place which will be featured in our schedule. Warsaw Summer Jazz Days is one of the biggest Jazz festivals in Poland, it's program fits well both mainstream, free, big international stars as well as strong polish representation. I think the names on the list (especially the one in bold font) need little introduction on my part.

Here's the program of the festival

15.07. John Zorn at 60 - A run through a variety of Zorn's project as he celebrates his 60th birtday. The groups will be:

SONG PROJECT, ILLUMINATIONS, THE HOLY VISIONS, THE ALCHEMIST, TEMPLARS-IN SACRED BLOOD, THE DREAMERS, ELECTRIC MASADA.

16.07. A day for fans of guitar and flamenco.
MARCIN OLAK QUARTET, RENAUD GARCIA - FONS, PACO DE LUCIA

17.07.  For the fans of big horn sound and marriage of jazz and rock.
TIE BREAK, POWER OF THE HORNS, SUN RA Arkestra, PINK FREUD

18.07. A day for those who love modern acoustic jazz.
WAYNE SHORTER Quartet, MACIEJ OBARA INTERNATIONAL QUARTET, PIOTR WOJTASIK QUARTET

19.07. A day with no particular theme I can formulate
ANDREA MARCELLI TRIO, JERZY MAZZOLL TRIO + ZDZISŁAW PIERNIK, ANTONIO SANCHEZ QUARTET

20.07.  That's a day which I look forward for the reason that the concert takes place at Cuda Na Kiju - one the Warsaw multitap beer places so you can drink beer while you listen to the polish jazz quartet:

KRAKOW

14-21.07 Crossroads Festival

Summer Jazz Festival at Piwnica Pod Baranami continues with the daily concerts but I think that of much more interest are the three concerts at Alchemia, part of the Rozstaje Festival (Crossroads) which shows contemporary music to reinterpret folk culture.

16.07 Radůza (Czech Republic); 17.07 Megitza (Poland); 18.07 Berlinska Droha and Corna Kroswa (Germany)

On Saturday on Main Market Square bands from Lituania, Iceland, Poland will play a concert entitled "Music of the North".

20.07. Night of Jazz

The very same day a variety of jazz club concerts in Krakow will take place, part of the annual Night of Jazz. The main event is an open-air concert on Maly Rynek with the legendary drummer Billy Cobham.
