Krakow Concert Schedule 20-26.01

Another week and another portion of concerts to consider. Hope to see you around.

20.01 Free The Dance at Alchemia
First performance of the Free The Dance company in the 2014, the musicians will be Wiktor Krzak (basson), Patryk Zakrocki (violin and stuff) and Michal Brombosz (cello). The dancers will be Malgorzata Haduch, Basia Bujakowska and Paweł Kinior.

21.01 Samara Lubelski + Artur Mackowiak at Piekny Pies
Samara is a indie-rock artist, frequently involved with the likes of Thurton Moore of Sonic Youth, her concert will be a part of prom-tour for the freshly released cd.
Artur Mackowiak made an impact on polish indie scene with the groups Potty Umbrella and Something Like Elvis. His experimental solo work on guitar is minimalistic in pattern but he's not shy of noise and distorion.

23.01 Swietliki at Piekny Pies
Probably the most famous rock poetry group in Poland. The raspy lyrics and voice, pessimistic and yet poetic vision of the world. Marcin Swietlicki performed his poetry as well in improvisatory context, most notably in the duo with Mikolaj Trzaska. Below probably the most nostalgic song by Swietliki, a sort of indie hit.

24.01 Jacek Kochan & Co - Lutosl at Piec ART
Jacek Kochan is a drummer and band-leader who has performed with internationally recognized jazz musicians (such as Greg Osby, Dave Liebman, Marc Copland any many others), he's main interest is the formula he called Acoustic Jazz in Acoustic Enviorment, he experiments with loops, synths, electronic filters. His Trio features M. Kupczak on double bass and one of the revelations of last year - D. Wania on piano (Power of The Horns and Maciej Obara International Qartet among other projects). The trio will tackle the compositions by the modern classic Wojciech Lutoslawski.

24.01 The Silver Owls at Harris Piano Jazz Bar
Silver Owls is an international band based in Krakow who plays a dreamy retro-americana, energetic, joyfull and with a lot of swagger, their version of "Paint it black" is well worth a hearing live.
